I’ve written six books of fiction and nonfiction and have taught creative writing at New York University and elsewhere. My articles and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and many other outlets. My book IDIOPHONE was long listed for The Believer Book Award and the University of Iowa’s Krause Essay Prize. I’m also a volunteer at Girls Write Now and an assistant editor at Autofocus Books.

I live in New York City with my family, which includes one dog.
